Our client is Crust Gourmet Pizza. The restaurant is located in Armadale, in the South Eastern suburbs of Melbourne. Their growing business requires an experienced cook to complement their existing team. Crust has gained an excellent reputation for the freshest gourmet pizzas and continues to receive daily positive customer feedback. They require a cook who can step in and manage their busy kitchen; from preparation, through to cooking and creation of new menu’s as required. Maintaining high standards of safety, food hygiene and quality ingredients is a must, as well as the ability to work in a multicultural environment.
The roles and responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Manage the daily operations of the kitchen including cooking, preparation,
menu planning, estimating food quantities / requirements and checking food quality.
Regulating temperature of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment.
Seasoning, adding gravies, sauces and garnishes to improve presentation of dishes.
Storing food at appropriate temperatures in controlled facilities.
Preparing food to meet special dietary requirements.
May be required to train other staff.
Must be punctual, reliable and able to work as a team.
WHAT YOU SHOULD POSSESS:
Certificate III in hospitality (cookery)
Food Safety Supervisor’s Certificate
Diploma of Hospitality Management (desirable)
Minimum 3 years’ experience in the hospitality industry
Experience gained working in a Crust pizza restaurant or similar (desirable)
Ability to speak an additional language considered an advantage
Able to understand staff and customers from diverse cultural backgrounds
Good written and verbal communication skills
