ABOUT THE COMPANY:

Sankalp are a quality chain of restaurants delivering an innovative dining experience in over 150 restaurants across the globe. With overwhelming popularity, the tradition continues in Wentworthville, Sydney, Australia and they are seeking a suitably qualified cook who is an expert in South/North Indian style cooking.
WHAT YOU WOULD POSSESS:
The successful candidate should meet the following requirements:
A relevant trade qualification; at least a certificate 4 in hospitality, commercial cookery or similar
Knowledge of Indian cuisine; both north and South Indian dishes
Proficiency in using a tandoor oven
A flair for creating interesting weekly specials to surprise and delight our customers
At least 5 years experience working in a busy restaurant
Able to work on some weekends and night shifts; depending on the scheduled staff roster
Able to communicate effectively with colleagues
Ability to speak Hindi would be advantageous but not mandatory
Good reference checks from previous employer; and at least one employer referee
Must have knowledge of safe food handling and food safety.
